Support for IDN Domains

I could not find any information on buypass and IDN domains.

Will domain names containing german umlauts (written in punny-code starting with xn--) work with certbot and the buypass API?

During some tests am always getting ""detail":"Errors during validation","subproblems":[{"type":"urn:ietf:params:acme:error:connection","detail":"The server could not connect to validation target","code":0". Let's encrypt works on the same server.

  • IDNS is enabled due to external requirements, so this is possibly a different issue.
IE we do not follow redirects.  Could you provide some more information regarding your request, eg FQDN and an excerpt of the log?

  • You are right, it seems a problem with redirects. So Buypass ACME won't access https site, because http traffic gets redirected to https... what a pitty.

Is there any way to have the verification run via https / Port 443?

    • Hi Georg

We haven’t taken the decision yet whether to enable following of redirects during the http challenge validation.

Andriy Mahats Thank you for your answer. I really think following the redirect, at least to https, would improve convience without introducing any security problems.

At least a hint within the basic usage description might be a great help for fresh users. https://community.buypass.com/t/36jtyc/certbot-basic-usage

    • Hi Georg

We added support for following of redirects during the http challenge validation.

It is now available in production and test environments.
